There are a variety of pets to collect in Eko.  Pets are an important part of the ARPG, and serve a variety of purposes.  Pets are separated into several categories based on their main use.  They also have a variety of variants, which give them a different appearance and more.  All pets can be attached to an Eko character's profile, though they don't have to be.

Drops

Some pets will drop items in a set period of time.  These pets have a page specifically for their drops (accessed with the "drops" button on the "My Pets" link in the top bar).  This period of time varies, and drops vary with variant and friendship.

Categories

There are 8 types of pets in the world of Eko, which determine their use.

Companions

Companion pets are just that, companions.  They can be drawn with your Eko character in prompts and gallery images for extra Gold, as well as having Gift Box drops every month.  These contain a randomized selection of items that the pet collects for their owner.

Mounts

Mount pets can be ridden by Eko characters, typically of the following categories: Bipedal Dracogryphs, Kemoki, Maho Rey, and Floaime.  Mounts can be used to access special prompts that require a specific type of mount or a specific Mount Skill (will be listed on the prompt and mount pet's encyclopedia entry).  Mounts don't have drops but the mount prompts allow them to give rewards anyway.

Combat

Combat pets are useful in combat (as the name would suggest).  Combat pets must be listed in the comments of a combat prompt with the character they are attached to (more information here), and will typically give the character skills or other combat effects.  Combat pets don't have drops, but can increase the chance of success in combat, thus allowing for more rewards than without.

Utility

Utility pets are useful in non-combat Daily prompts.  These pets often allow for extra rolls on top of the typical roll, or different rolls than the typical roll.  They will have a Utility Skill listed in their encyclopedia entry.  These pets do not have drops, as they give extra or better rolls in Daily prompts.

Special

Special pets have extra effects that take effect when they are drawn in a prompt or special drops.  These pets do not generally have drops, unless they are a pet with special drops.

Livestock

Livestock pets are a type of pet which drops a specific resource, typically one useful for Crafting.  These pets drop their resource weekly, and they are a good source of resources.

Crop Pets

Crop pets are a type of pet found through Gardening.  These pets each represent a type of crop, and drop their crop weekly.  This crop varies with their variants, and can be sold or used in Cooking.

Foragers

Forager pets are a type of pet that finds items.  They drop these found items daily, and can have a larger amount of unclaimed drops than other types of pets.
